Smiles Sensory & Family Farm

Smiles Sensory & Family FarmSmiles Sensory & Family FarmSmiles Sensory & Family Farm

THANK YOU TO OUR STEVE'S FAMILY & FRIENDS.

We would like to say a huge thank you to the Peerless family for very kindly choosing Smiles to receive donations made in memory of Steve at his funeral.

An incredible £2,022.50 was raised in Steve’s memory, and we are genuinely overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity.

Steve was such a huge part of our farm family and his loss is still felt enormously. Knowing that his family chose to support a place that meant so much to him makes these donations even more special.

Some of the money raised will be used to create a memorial water feature at the farm in Steve’s memory — somewhere peaceful and permanent where we can remember him and the huge part he played in making Smiles what it is.

The remaining donations will go directly back into the farm, helping us care for our rescued animals and continue the work that Steve was so proud to be part of.

Thank you to the Peerless family and to every single person who donated in Steve’s memory. We cannot tell you how much it means to us.

Steve will always be part of Smiles, and his memory will live on here at the farm.

Sadly, we lost our lovely Toots - 27th Aug 26

Sadly, we lost our lovely Toots overnight.

Toots came to us as an ex-battery turkey, and when she first arrived she needed a lot of love and care. She lived with me for three months while I nursed her back to health — and, as you can imagine, she very quickly became part of the family.

Once she was strong enough, she moved to the farm where she finally got to experience the things she had missed out on — freedom, fresh air, space to wander, sunshine and people who adored her.

We were lucky enough to have Toots for nearly two years. She was such a character and loved being around us while we were carrying out our jobs around the farm. She wasn’t “just a turkey”; she was one of our little team and very much loved.
She also had a particularly special bond with our Steve. So although today is incredibly sad, I like to think that somehow she’s found her way back to him and he’s looking after his girl again.

For an ex-battery turkey who didn’t have the easiest start in life, we hope her final years made up for some of it.
