My journey with Smiles began in the summer of 2021, when I joined as a volunteer. During my time here, I saw first-hand the profound difference that a safe, peaceful environment, meaningful interaction with animals and connection with nature can make to people's lives. When the opportunity arose to continue the work of Smiles, I was determined to preserve and develop its values and create a long-term sanctuary for both people and animals.

I am a qualified Occupational Therapist and mum of 2 girls.

I have a lot of experience working with children and adults with additional needs and some experience working with fostered & adopted children.

I love being around the animals at the farm and I have guinea pigs, a snake and have kept a number of chickens over the years.

After reducing my working hours, I started volunteering at Smiles in 2021, and farm life has since become an important part of my life. Spending time there has had a hugely positive impact on my mental health and wellbeing, and I’m grateful to be part of such a supportive and rewarding community.

I'm a Registered Nurse working laterally in child health, which has given me some understanding of neurodiverse children. I have also worked extensively in Safeguarding children.

I have 2 grown up children and am a dog lover.
